Pension. In Finland, every employee is entitled to either a national pension or a statutory occupational pension based on their income.
Social security. In Finland, employers and workers are obliged to contribute to social security funds. The funds are used to cover maternity and sick leaves and unemployment as well as insurances and health insurances.
Absence due to illness. Workers are entitled to paid sick leave in Finland.
Parental leave and parental allowance. Finland has a parental leave and parental allowance, and the new law takes into account the different family situations, different family constellations and different forms of entrepreneurship present. Also, the goal is for parental leave and care responsibilities to be evenly distributed among parents in two-parent families. After the reform, families have more opportunities, more choices and more flexibility than before in taking out the leave.
Unemployment. Workers are entitled to unemployment benefits in Finland.
Vacation. Employees are entitled to about 25 vacation days per year but this varies by company and your area of work. Employees are paid an equal amount during holidays. In addition to this, there are 12 holidays each year.
